Cabernet Mitos
Add to wish listOrigin: The red wine variety was bred at the LVWO Weinsberg in 1970. The variety is protected by the state of Baden-Württemberg. The variety protection was granted on 24.01.2001.
Interbreeding: Lemberger x Teinturier
Characteristics: The red wine variety has a medium to late bud burst. The growth is medium to strong with an upright shoot growth and low side shoot growth. Cabernet Mitos has a medium to late berry ripening and records a loss of juice yield when overripe. The berry shrinkage results in a concentration effect, which significantly reduces susceptibility to botrytis. The yield and must weights are medium to high.
Grape: The grape of the red wine variety Cabernet Mitos is medium sized with small to medium sized berries. The berries are loosely to densely clustered.
Wine: Cabernet Mitos is characterised by an extremely intense, bluish-red to black-red berry juice, which results in a wine that is full-bodied and rich in tannins. These characteristics make it an excellent component of cuvées. When vinified on its own, the wine impresses with its fullness and compactness.
Cultivation: In order to achieve the desired ripeness of the grapes (sugar, aroma, acidity), only good locations should be selected for cultivation. On less vigorous sites, no "weak" rootstock varieties should be used.
