Add to wish listOrigin: Calardis Soleil is a new white-berried PIWI grape variety bred by the Julius Kühn Institute (Geilweilerhof). Plant variety protection was applied for at the Federal Plant Variety Office in 2024. The variety belongs to the Calardis family (including Calardis Blanc and Calardis Musqué).
Interbreeding: Gf. 2000-305-0137 × Solaris
Characteristics: Not susceptible to sunburn. Upright growth with airy foliage. Early ripening, between Solaris and Müller-Thurgau, making it particularly suitable for cooler locations and northern growing regions. Thanks to its resistant grapes, it is also suitable for longer hanging times with high must weights.
Resistance:
Grape: Mostly loose grape structure with small to medium-sized berries. Low susceptibility to sunburn and robust grape characteristics overall.
Wine: Harmonious, full-bodied white wine with lively, tangy acidity. Delicate fruit aromas of mirabelle plum, apricot, pineapple and ripe apple, with a spicy finish and delicate lime notes. High sensory acceptance.
