Origin: The Muscat Bleu grape variety was crossed in the 1930s from the Garnier 15/6 and Seyve-Villard 20-347 varieties by the Swiss grape breeder Garnier.

Characteristics: Muscat Bleu is known for its high resistance to powdery and downy mildew and is mostly used as a table grape. In addition, the variety has a high frost resistance and is recognisable in autumn by its beautiful yellow autumn foliage colouring. In terms of taste, the variety is characterised by a distinct muscat tone. The ripeness starts very early, usually already in the middle/end of August.

Grape: The grape is large, very loose-berried with large, oval and dark blue berries. The berries also have a crunchy flesh and a distinct muscat tone.

Cultivation: Muskat Bleu is almost undemanding. It grows best in sunny locations with moist and nutrient-rich soil. Easy to grow!
