Origin: Bronner is a fungus-resistant white wine variety bred in 1975 and was crossed at the Staatlichen Weinbauinstitut Freiburg by Norbert Becker.

Interbreeding: Merzling X Gm 6494

Characteristics: The leaves are large, five-lobed and dark green with conspicuously little leaf hairs. Bud burst, blossom and ripening start about a week later than Pinot Blanc. The grape variety has a strong growth with upright shoots.

Resistance:

Downy mildew: niedrig mittel hoch very high

Powdery mildew: niedrig mittel high sehr hoch

Botrytis: niedrig mittel high sehr hoch

Grape: The grapes are medium to large, densely berried. The berries are medium to large with a stable berry skin.

Wine: The bouquet is relatively neutral and sometimes reminiscent of the scent of apples. At full ripeness, Bronner wines achieve a medium to good structure and are reminiscent of Pinot blanc.

Cultivation: The frost resistance of Bronner is considered very good. The vineyard requirements correspond to those of the Burgundy varieties, but require a good water supply.
